The animals trapped on RSPCA Assured farms desperately need our help. It is imperative that we make a loud and powerful statement in person alongside our petition. So, on the RSPCA’s 200th birthday (June 15th), in collaboration with Vegan Hub and independent activists, we will protest at the RSPCA HQ in Horsham.
We have also launched an online effort to demonstrate why RSPCA Assured does not work. Drawing on material from our seven investigations into RSPCA Assured farms, we will highlight the horrors we have found in our years of investigative work over the coming weeks. Indeed, our undercover investigations reveal the horrendous exploitation of animals on RSPCA Assured farms and the mass killing of animals in RSPCA Assured stamped abattoirs.
We have seen and captured the failings of RSPCA Assured and we are applying the pressure because we cannot let RSPCA Assured continue to get away with this!
We launched our petition on Monday highlighting these demands.
The support we have received for this has been overwhelming. From celebrity endorsements to backing from other NGOs, sanctuaries, and veterinarians, we are already starting to build a substantial number of signatures. But we need more. We need your signature too!
Please ask yourself this: how can an organisation on the one hand work to protect some animals and on the other endorse the abuse and slaughter of others? How can RSPCA Assured really care for “all kind” when it promotes and champions the barbecuing of animals every summer? Their website features numerous recipes promoting the cooking of animals just below their claims of compassion and welfare. It is time for the RSPCA to do better, the evidence is overwhelming: it needs to drop RSPCA Assured and promote plant-based food.
"Before working in the pig industry, I believed that an RSPCA (then ‘Freedom Food’) label meant that an animal had lived a good life. Having now witnessed countless atrocities, routine mutilations, widespread stress, injury and disease due to conditions imposed on pigs in RSPCA Assured farms, and extreme suffering at slaughter, I believe the description of this scheme as ‘high welfare’ to be deeply misleading. The industry and the RSPCA are failing pigs on an industrial scale, and their part in promoting the lie of humanely farmed and killed ‘meat’ goes against everything they outwardly stand for."
