We have had such a busy and successful start to 2025!

We have had such a busy and successful start to 2025! Through January and February we prepared our first investigation release of the year, developed our campaign strategies and created our Theory of Change video to help illustrate the impact of our work.

Early in March we made a proud statement for cows on International Women’s Day, as part of our new campaign Udderly Kind, and urged the public to consider females of all species. We also published the results of our YouGov survey which was reported on by Plant Based News. This showed us how little the public knew about the dairy industry before we revealed the reality, as part of our second new campaign Arlarming.

Mass media success

Our investigation into Lowfields Farm (an Arla-contracted mega-dairy) was released in mid March, and our findings shook the nation. Over the course of several weeks, our undercover worker captured shocking scenes of violence at the farm. Cows were ruthlessly beaten by the Arla workers, who used pipes, ropes, pliers, and their bare hands in blatant and repeated acts of abuse. This was reported on by over twenty-five news outlets including the BBC, the Independent and the Daily Mail

These investigative findings resulted in significant online exposure, highlighting the reality of the dairy industry to the public. Our undercover worker also appeared on BBC television and our work became the talk of the country, landing a significant blow to the reputation of Arla, though we’re only just getting started with our campaign.

Additionally, thanks to your support, we successfully prosecuted three workers caught abusing calves at Oaklands Livestock Centre which we investigated in 2021. Along with fines and community service, they received a lifetime ban from keeping animals who are farmed. This win belongs to every single person who stood with us, donated, and refused to look away. Thank you for standing in solidarity with us.

More wins

Thanks to thousands of votes from animal rights activists like you, we’ve secured £1,500 from My Giving Circle — doubled by an anonymous donor to £3,000! That’s a huge boost to our undercover investigations and campaigns, all thanks to our amazing community. Thank you!

And thanks to your support, and endorsement from celebrities like Heather Mills, our petition has reached 10K signatures. Stay tuned, as will be soon upping the pressure on Starbucks!

At the end of March we also attended the Vegan Animal Rights Conference. We gave a talk, networked from our stall and built connections with many in the movement.

I can’t thank you enough for your support. Without your help, we would not be able to achieve such fantastic wins for the animals. Together, we are stronger.

As always,

For the animals!
