I’m really excited to tell you about another aspect of our partnership with SPECIESISM.WTF. We made a short film together and, even if we do say so ourselves, it’s brilliant! I invite you to experience it yourself tonight at 19:00 BST on our YouTube channel.
What makes this film special is the sheer power and emotion behind it. We’ve fused the hard-hitting investigative expertise of Animal Justice Project with the creative, arts-driven vision of SPECIESISM WTF to tell the heart-wrenching story of mother pigs imprisoned in farrowing crates. It's raw, it's emotional, and it’s a story the world needs to see. This film will leave an unforgettable impact.
We’ve titled the film AKIN /a’kin/ because we want to highlight just how deeply connected we are to our fellow animals. We’re all individuals, we all feel pain, we all suffer, and we all deserve to have our rights recognised. The film is a powerful and emotional reminder of our shared sentience. Trust me, you’ve never seen anything quite like this before. Our team is dedicated to ending the use of pigs, and all animals, in agriculture, and we hope that this will be a powerful tool to change minds and make a meaningful difference for pigs everywhere. We are beyond proud of what we’ve created, and can’t wait for you to see it!
One week after the film release, on Wednesday 16 October, we’re hosting a live Q&A at 19:00 BST with the team who entered the farm. This is your chance to ask them all about their experience, live on our YouTube channel. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to dive deeper into the making of the film and hear what it was like to see these horrors firsthand. If you cannot attend but you want to ask a question before the date above, feel free to send us an email or contact us via our social media.
Our partnership kicked off with a bang, as our Birmingham event left the public stunned. Now, we can’t wait to make an even bigger impact with our upcoming collaborative art installations. We hope you are as excited about the remainder of these events as we are. The more volunteer outreachers we have, the more members of the public we can reach. Can you join us?
We hope you like the film that we have collaboratively created. Let us know what you think in the comments section of the video once it premiers, and we hope to see you on the streets for outreach.
As always,
for the animals!
