Cecily has been a vegetarian since birth and always felt that was enough. Until one day, whilst sitting in the Costa Rican jungle reading Peter Singer’s, Animal Liberation, she realised that she had to go that one step further into veganism.
That’s when she knew she never wanted another animal to be harmed or killed for her. Cecily joined Animal Justice Project at the beginning of 2017 after meeting us at a Campus Without Cruelty event in London. She has attended many protests and vigils fighting for animal rights (many of which involved dressing up as animals!) but it wasn’t until meeting our team that she decided she wanted to get more involved. Cecily helps in our communications department and has the vital, and at times difficult, job of getting animal experiments into the media.
